I usually bind my accounts and other documents either with plastic comb binding or just with a staple, but I've been looking into thermal binding, and wondered if anyone would be able to answer some queries and concerns.
I regularly produce large reports (400 sheets) as well as just standard accounts and tax returns etc. I've seen a machine which will bind 54mm, which they say, should bind 500 pages.
I wondered if you know whether the finished reports are robust and can stand up to heavy usage?
Are the covers etc easy to print on, or can you get clear covers so that the front and back pages can be the covers.
Also does anyone have any recommendations for machines, suppliers, and the covers etc.
Thank you in advance.

I have used them for years.
Never with so many sheets, but I have used thermal binders for years without any of the pages coming detached.
Care needs to be taken if you need to replace a page or remove one, when it can get a little messy with the stringy glue.
Clear covers not only save printing costs, but you have the opportunity to make the 'front' page much more personal and attractive, inhouse.
Binders
I tried thermal binders with no sucess - I suspect I was using one that was rather too cheap and cheerful.
I found pages wouldnt always stay neatly in place.
Hence I use comb binders, which I find are also a bit easier to open and read compared to documents bound in a thermal binder.
