Business Expenses

Business Expenses

Didn't find your answer?

I was ticked off by a client last week for not making an allowance to the DLA for washing powder in the company accounts. As in she had to wash her business clothes so the company should pay for the washing powder!

This is the best one I have had yet.

Would be interested to hear some others experiences.

How about a guard dog
Many moons ago when I worked in practice we had a client who put through all of the food and vet bills for his dog (and claimed the same as an allowable expense) as he said he kept the dog for security purposes for his personal protection as a director of the company.

Guard dogs
Nothing wrong with claiming guard dog expenses in certain circumstances eg alsatians for public houses or scrap yards. Also a case for capital allowances.
