use a spreadsheet
sometimes there is a need to do this as clients say they want to take home a monkey a week or whatever.

The easiest way is to set up the current years
personal allownce , tax rates and ni rates etc on a spreadsheet.

they are all linked together by formulas and you change the gross pay and hey presto the net pay changes automatic.
Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to set up in Excel.

Make the most of Excel
Tony is correct - I use this facility frequently. Remember that if you have set up the spreadsheet simply to calculate net pay from gross with various allowances, rates etc, the goal seek feature of Excel is very useful in this case.

Net to Gross
Alternative solution is to invest in a dedicated payroll prog like Money Manager Payroll Manager. It allows you to gross up pay from a target net pay with one click of your mouse, as well as numerous other options including CIS payments, Contracts of Employment etc. for less that £100
