We are a paperless office currently researching which document management system to install - however there are so many on the market and they all do the same job in slightly different ways. I need to find a product that is easy to use and that works well with Iris. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments? I'd like to know what to avoid as well as find out what works well. Thanks.

...The AccountingWEB Paperless Office Buyer's Guide 2005.
This free PDF download provides detailed analysis on 12 applications based on reviews carried out by more than 20 AccountingWEB members. Several of the systems tested are designed specifically for practitioners.
While several systems are probably able to integrate with IRIS, it's worth highlighting Space-Maker. A few years back, they entered a marketing partnership with IRIS and have installed several systems. The relationship has gone quiet more recently, but I think that's because paperless features are becoming a core function of practice management systems and IRIS may be planning some developments of its own. It may be worth asking them about their paperless plans.
Good luck with your quest and stop back by to let us know how you get on. The 2006 Paperless Office Buyer's Guide can't be that far away.

spacemaker
We have gone for e-spacemaker, as they have spent a considerable amount of time in setting up integration with Iris. Our system is being installed next week. They were at Iris World last year. Have spoken to another Iris user who has had the system in for approx 2 years, they seem quite happy. But full integration is the key.
PaperPort
Hi Greta,
I am not sure, but I thought IRIS had there own document management system?
We also run a ‘less paper office’ (well getting there anyway) and we use Paper Port 10 (http://www.scansoft.co.uk/paperport/standard/features.asp ), it is a more basic system but we don’t need all the bells and whistles of other systems.
Hope this helps.
