Capital loss?

Capital loss?

Didn't find your answer?

Scenario: Individual invests substantial amount of money into a limited company. He joins the board of directors but does not hold any shares. A while later he resigns as director and then subsequently the Company goes into liquidation. He has lost the whole investment. As this became a loan from a third party as far as company is concerned, can individual may this as a capital loss on his SATR, carry it forward, and offset capital gains against it?
