Charity asking about QuickBooks

We are a large charity. We are looking for accounting software which would give our 10 users online access anytime from anywhere. We have 5 departments and 20 cost centres so we need three layer accounting, i e each transaction would have a Nominal Ledger Code, Cost Centre code and Department code.

We are considering QuickBooks at the moment. Before we invest time and effort looking into it in more detail we would be grateful if any users could advise us whether QuickBooks is capable of doing the above.

Thanks

Quickbooks for charity

Quickbooks will not be able to cope with 10 users. It starts to struggle with more than 5 users. You should be looking at larger systems that can cope with 10 users. What is your budget?

Probably not

We had a large charity client at my previous firm, and our accountants with IT expertise looked at Sage, QuickBooks and Navision. Whilst I was in favour of QB, as it is excellent for small charities, they came to the conclusion that QB could not handle it, and recommended Navision.

I suggest that you hang on until Intuit release QB 2010 which will have the larger capacity that you are seeking.
