Client deserted her business

Client deserted her business

Didn't find your answer?

We have a client who has upped and left her business and returned to her native country and is not coming back due to marriage breakdown.

said client has outstanding tax and vat obligations - what action should we take? and do we need to file a report with SOCA

Help would be much appreciated

Lurch

.
I suspect that she has not handed over any potential VAT liability and has no intention of paying her income tax and NI when it falls due (though as I havent seen books have no idea whether any of these taxes are actually payable).

Thanks for help on this.

Is it that simple?

If the client has simply upped and left then I cannot see that any criminal offence has been committed.

If there is no criminal offence suspected then there is no need to report to SOCA.

Do you suspect a criminal offence? If so, what?

David
