COMPANIES HOUSE

COMPANIES HOUSE

Didn't find your answer?

Does anyone have any ideas why Companies House have been allowed to shorten the filing date without any resistance or complaint from the accounting bodies?

Filing date
I Have been aware of it for some time but my point is WHY has it been shortened I could suggest that it is only to obtain more coffers for the treasury?

The 10 months fitted very well with the other filing requirements no doubt the tax return and corporation tax payment dates will change in time with little or no resistance putting more pressure on companies and accountants.

.

Too much consultation

Not Companies House, the Companies Act
The shortening of the filing period was introducd on 1 October 2007 under S442 of the Companies Act 2006. Striclty speaking Companies House are merely following the requirements of the Act, they didn't write it.

The Act itself did go through a full consultation process, which would of included input and feedback from accounting associations.
