Company car tax for chauffeur drive owner??

Company car tax for chauffeur drive owner??

Didn't find your answer?

If a client provides chauffeur drive services via his own limited company (he is sole director/employee) using a car owned by the company does he have to pay company car and fuel benefit? He will run the business from home and although 95% of his mileage will be business I cannot see anything to reduce the company car and fuel scale charge!

Alternatively, he can buy the car personally and charge the company 40p a mile for business miles (25p after 10,000). But the car will be a prestige car and have high running costs. Any way he can claim more, but not end up being taxed or NICed on it?!

There is, by the way, a reason for using a company rather than being self-employed.
