Comparative Figures - dormant previous year

Comparative Figures - dormant previous year

Didn't find your answer?

Is it necessary for a small company, which has been trading in the current year, to state comparative figures in its financial statements/abbreviated accounts if it was dormant the previous year?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Comparative Figures - previous year dormant
Phil,
I realise that there would be little in the way of comparative figures, but where they do exist, do they have to be shown?

eh?

If the company was dormant last year then there can be no comparatives against P&L a/c items and precious few against balance sheet entries. What are you driving at exactly?

Thanks Andy
Thanks for your comments - as comparatives will only exist for cash and share capital on the balance sheet and for details of the share capital, I assume that it is not necessary to enter zeros as the comparatives against all the other figures in the statutory accounts for the current year?
On your point about what was filed last year, abbreviated dormant accounts were filed. What is a DCA form?

Yes

I would guess yes, because the Companies Acts require comparatives and the only time that you can omit them is where they don't exist, ie the first year. After that they do exist.
