Is this a con, or a good deal?

Is this a con, or a good deal?

Didn't find your answer?

I addition many employers provide benefit/discount card to their employees and they are also represented by TPLG

He showed be gloss brochures of well-known unions represented.

For each region/area they are signing up accountants, one per area. When union members in your specified area are looking for an accountant, you will be referred to them automatically.

Apparently I have around 17,000 union members in my area. He also motioned that in the past 2 weeks 13 enquiries for an accountant was received in my area which they passed on to an accountant in a different region!

They want £624+vat per annum up front for minimum two-year contract.

Has any body any experience or knowledge of this scheme?

Roger

If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is, but ...
why don't you ask to speak to the accountant in the other region just to verify the numbers.

The Philip Louis Group Ltd - formed Dec 2004
Now that the correct company name has been identified from the website (which looks impressive at first sight) it has been possible to establish the following :-

Company formed = December 2004
(so any salesman claims of "long established"
can help us assess the honesty of the scheme on offer)

Registered office = Preston - an accountant's office, maybe Bowmans or BDO ?

There are directors addresses in Lytham St Annes, Preston, Huddersfield and Feltham.

One of the directors is listed as being a director of another company in administration.

Personally, perhaps me being over cautious, I would not pay upfront money into this or any other scheme without thorough investigation and verification of salesman's claims.

If I have time I'll see if any of the names / addresses are similar to those I recall reading in reports in the business section in a certain Sunday newspaper that I regularly read.

TPLG group don't exist ?
Whenever I come across the "travelling salesman...upfront fee..lots of promises scenario" I do a search on the "Risk disc" (produced by L M Group Ltd a legitimate credit risk assessment company) to see who's behind the travelling salesman's company.

Now, "TPLG group" - no such company listed.

This should tell all we need to know about the offer !

The geographical location of the company can be an initial warning of advance fee fraud, the particular region of UK that rings alarm bells with me has been home to an under culture of "Debt Collection" "Rates Reduction" "Diary Advertising" etc. upfront fee con merchants.

This may help but it doesn't change my initial advice!
