Cost of services

Cost of services

Didn't find your answer?

I opened an accounatncy first last year and now preparing its first financial statements.

Currently the cost of our services is made of total gross staff cost (the only material direct cost). I would appreciate if someone can confirm

1) whether my treatment of cost of services is correct
and
2) what do other accountancy frms include in their cost of services?

Many thanks

Tahir

Can Aweb please start a competition for this sort of stuff?
An accounting firm which does not know how to present its own accounts.
You could not make it up if you were the scriptwriters for Monty Python.
The clients must feel pretty secure and priveleged.

I think you're being harsh.

Cost of service entails all direct cost of supplying the service. For an accountancy firm this would mainly be staff wages plus other direct costs such as cost of special stationery e.g. payslips, etc. I just wanted to gauge where other accountancy firms draw the line.

Thanks for your comment

Explain
What do you mean by:

"I opened an accounatncy first last year and now preparing its first financial statements."

Do you mean accountancy firm? Surely not.

Tahir
I dont want to sound rude but i suggest you appoint a suitably qualified accountant to assist you with your accounts.

I would be very interested to know if you are qualified? From your question I hope you are not as it gives us Qualified accountants a bad name.

I do not know how you can offer services to clients when clearly you have not the necessry skills or experience. If I was a client of yours I would be very worried. I hope to have PII.

In defence of Tahir,
I would like to say he did a pretty good job when he did my accounts and tax. I was too busy to sort my own out last year and asked a firm called "Tahir Accounting" to do them for me.
I must say I was impressed with the quality of service and attention to detail.
If I am mistaken and it is not the same firm, then please excuse me.
