CPD Development Plan

CPD Development Plan

Didn't find your answer?

All members in practice are now required by the ACCA to complete 'a personal development plan that identifies the development you need to perform in your current role and in the future'.

As a busy member in practice, could someone please translate this for me and help me to complete the 'plan' in a way that will satisfy the bureaucrats

Greater HR involvement
In response to P L, I must say that I have never found an area where HR involvement had any benefit at all. How would an HR department know what training a professional person needed?

General comment on CPD: reading this forum, I would have thought written English would be a good subject for a start.

Cultural awareness
As part of the development plan, cultural awareness may be an important part to consider. Depending on our lines of work, this can be a significant factor.

Remember, English is not everyone's first language.

Again, another area for development might be learning another language.

no compulsory CPD in AIA

Talk about about CPD a lot, implementing CPD and so on and after so long long time, where got compulsory CPD? No such think at all.

Please tell us why is it necessary to have CPD when there is no compulsory CPD.

That is great to me, I save all for my pocket money. You save yours too if you join to practice as auditors with your recognised qualification.

Psst I believe and sincerely submit to idea of CPD and attend CPD hours as required by IFAC. I am professional you know, and I join another recognised professional body after my enquiries and letters are not entertain.

Very true
I agree entirely and also as a busy practitioner it is in reality very hard to find time to do so.

The problem is we do all need CPD as skills do quickly go out of date and new legislation brings things we need to learn, and our professional bodies need some form of evidence that we as members are undertaking CPD to protect our clients.

CPD
Really all you need to do is to identify areas you are weak in, or perhaps need a little bit of updating on and then find some courses that cover those areas.

Too be honest as a fellow busy ACCA practitioner I have found it really useful. It can be tough taking time out but I have actually picked up some really good points which I have used in practice on the CPD courses I have attended.
