Cumbernauld Phones

Cumbernauld Phones

Didn't find your answer?

Has anyone telephoned Cumbernauld in the last few months and heard anything other than the engaged tone?

You can't
following my earlier posting I tried the old number (as it was on letter I had of course - no thinking ahead there) redirected to the new one which I have tried unsuccessfully -gist of message everyone too busy.
I am trying a letter. At least then it's evidence when I end up making a complaint.

Letters
Yes,

I have not been redirected, just the engaged signal, going back several months. I have been trying to call now because of demands for Qtr 4 2006/07 which have been paid.

I have resorted to letters, for the same reasons. Surely dealing with letters takes them much more time, I know it takes me longer to write & post them

New number
There was an article recently in the "what's new" section on HMRC website (would link if I knew how!).

They have changed the number for SA and PAYE enquiries to 0845 3667816 as from 12 June. This replaces six old numbers(!!!) and I haven't had to try it yet, so not sure if permanently engaged.

Good Luck.

I always write now - don't even try to phone
My stress levels can't handle it, so I always write now and never ever try to phone!

Cumbernauld phones
Even the local districts can't get through to the accounts office in my experience, so God help us all!

I must be very lucky...
...I phoned the Cumbernauld number on the PAYE/NI statement, and got an answerphone which told me to ring an 0845 number. I rang that at 5.30 yesterday, and got straight through. The person in the call centre couldn't help me, so said she'd send a message to someone at Cumbernauld to call me within 3 days. They called today at 1.45. I missed the call, but they left a message with their direct number - which I called and was answered within 3 rings!!!

Another Failed System Implementation?
Thank you for that Nichola,

Two questions for the Revenue:

1. Has the complete absence of telephone answering capacity on the old Cumbernauld number been because the old system/staff were out of action before the new numbers were operational?

2. How long will the old number be printed on automated post from Cumbernauld?

Cumbernauld tax office
I eventually got through to the 01236 783631 and got an snswerphone message giving me the new 0845 number.

I then dialled this number and had to wait about 15 minutes before answering - all at my expense- great!
