Delayed Corporation Tax Repayments

Delayed Corporation Tax Repayments

Didn't find your answer?

I have been waiting for a corporation tax repayment for nearly 5 months now. I received a letter in November saying it was due, but no cheque has arrived. I've chased of-course, but with no result.
I've heard that other small companies are also having their tax repayments delayed for no apparent reason. Has anyone else experience this?

Delays on repayments
I have been chasing a repayment of a £400 fine for alleged non filing of a P35.

This was reduced to nil on 28th December 2007.

Have contacted South Yorkshire area processing at Barnsley. Not us can you contact Cumbernauld.

Contacted Cumbernauld " Oh yes we have an over payment. Do you want it back?"

"Send us a fax as a request for repayment."

Fax sent. Hard copy and copy of letter reducing penalty to nil sent 18th February.

Letter from Cumbernauld 21st February Banking oprations.

"I have sent your enquiry to South Yorkshire Area office who will deal with the matter."

Rang South Yorkshire. "Nothing to do with us."

"Who can I contact now?"

" Do not know."

"At my witts end can I speak to an Inspector?"

" NO."

"However I will speak to a colleage and get back to you."

Rang Banking operations. 30 minutes delay to get through to them.

"Can't speak. No 64-8."

"Yes there is because when I rang before you confirmed the overpayment was held on file."
"I do not want information as I have it. I want a repayment made"

"Can I speak to complaints."

Complaints.
"Sorry it a mistake ."

"Advise you to write another letter to Cumbernauld enclosing all correspondance and say not happy!"

South Yorkshire ring.

"Think Stockport !!!! is to repay with in three weeks."

Just watch this space.

I think a Greek said "Those who the gods seek to destroy they first send mad"

Plus ca change, plus ca la meme chose!
