Hi everyone, I am hoping someone has experience in this area.
We act for a small number of dental associates and we are considering forming a partnership between the associate and their wife/husband to reduce their tax bill. The wife/husband currently deals with the day to day paperwork of the business and we therefore have a genuine reason for wanting to split the profits (fairly of course).
Whilst doing a bit of research online it seems to suggest in the Dental Act of 1984 that only registered individuals of the GDC can carry out work within the partnership. The wife/husband would only perform general office duties so there is no need for them to be registered with the GDC.
I know there have been several amendments to the 1984 act but I can not find any which confirm that the rules have been relaxed with regard to partnerships.
Has anyone got experience in this area? I would really appreciate your comments.
Thanks in advance.

Dentists
I understood that with effect from 1 August 2006, dentists are now allowed to form limited companies and LLPs - but not sure whether non dentists are allowed to be partners/shareholders, but I would not be surprised if they where as long as the majority share is held by the practising dentists.
And a quick google reveals that this is the case!
