Different letterhead margins on Word 2007

Different letterhead margins on Word 2007

Didn't find your answer?

Have just set up practice and received preprinted letterheads which require text on first page to start further down the page than I wish the letter to continue on subsequent pages (if that makes sense?).

Am using Vista and Word 2007 and have tried ticking box "different first page" under design tab and have first page header on first page and header on second page but they change size together grrrrrrrrrr!!

I must be doing something wrong and surely they should change independently - can anybody help please?!!!!!!!!!!

Same in 2003
I'm not using 2007 and Vista (on the basis that I don't need either) but the same problem occurs in 2003. I use Sections. If you insert a next page section break, then go to the header of the second page, and ensure that the Link with Previous is unset (in 2003) it is on the Header/Footer toolbar. This enables you to have completely different settings, not only for the headers and footer, but the whole page, including setting it to landscape (great for reports). We use it for proposals, enabling us to have changes at set stages of the document.

However, there is always a downside, this only works if you know you are always using more than the first page so you either set up a separate multipage template or get used to deleting the section break if it is only one page.
