Directors' Loan account Software

Directors' Loan account Software

Didn't find your answer?

Are readers able to suggest software which will allow us to enter the individual debits and credits and will highlight any problems (overdrawn balance) and calculate any relevant P11D entries (interest etc)

Spreadsheet
Not pro so hope I have right end if the stick here, but agree with John's comment re spreadsheet being a fairly easy option, I use one.

Need separate columms for date, transfers to director's a/c, and for the various things that reduce the loan such as salary or divi payments or refunded expenses. Make sure list is in sorted order of date.

Then just need a column with cumulative total of difference, eg if transfers to dir a/c in column B, salary/divi payments etc in columns C-E, and this total is in F, then entry for row 9 would be =F8+B9-C9-D9-E9. Apply conditional formatting in this column so that anything approaching 5k limit comes up in red.

First cumulative entry has to be any amount owed to/by director at end of last period of course.

Directors Loan analysis
A simple Dr/Cr/Balance/Int spreadsheet using Excel could do this for you if you were to highlight any negative cells through formatting such as #,##0.00; [red]-#,##0.00 or whatever other colour you want negative numbers to show up.

On the other hand, you could look at Money Manager http://www.moneysoft.co.uk where the Director's Loan is set up a Balance Sheet Debtor/Creditor A/c and select it, enter your interest rate and it will produce the relative interest charge based on the closing monthly balance.

Course, some folk will still prefer the intransigence and cost of more expensive packages like SAGE!
