Dividend Vouchers

Dividend Vouchers

Didn't find your answer?

I currently have only a few clients, one of which is a private limited company. The directors are following the conventional salary/dividend route for extracting funds from the business. I need the company to issue dividend vouchers to the shareholders, but do I need formal voucher documents (and if so could you advise as to a source) or can these be simply a document prepared in Word ?

Thank you for your help.

Word Is Fine
Word documents should be fine.

However, you will need to make sure that they follow the correct format as all normal divided vouchers ( ie show the co name, co number, shares held by individual, dividend rate etc etc) and will need to ensure the Co Secretary signs them.

Dividend Voucher
A word or excel document printed on company letterheaded stationery is all that is required. You will need to include details of the distribution e.g. interim dividend of £x per share for the year/period ending XX together with the shareholders details - name, holding, net dividend and tax credit.

It is also worth including a note reminding the shareholder to retain the voucher as evidence of tax credit if required by the Revenue.

In otherwords, you need to incorporate all the information shown on a typical plc company voucher in a simplified form!
