Dividend vouchers

Dividend vouchers

Didn't find your answer?

I was researching the rules regarding dividend vouchers because people were always asking if they could be produced in arrears or needed to be produced at all.

Is this the current legislation?

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/1/section/234/enacted

If so, it would appear definite that dividend vouchers have to be produced when the dividends are "paid".

Presumably this has been superseded

by the more recent consolidation acts.  You wouldn't happen to know where?  Being lazy, I know I should be able to find it.

With kind regards

Don't think it's superseded

I think the web site says if the acts have been repealed.

Annual vouchers

I thought you could produce an annual voucher to cover all dividends paid in that year?  Aren't some quoted companies doing this now?

Dividends

Suggest look at Jennifer Adams' article on the subject :

Annual vouchers are OK ...

according to this article (which I have no reason to doubt) but minutes (for interim payments) should be contemporaneous. That's what she said before everyone started disagreeing about whether minutes could be written up afterwards or not anyway!
