Domestic Oil Deliveries

Domestic Oil Deliveries

Didn't find your answer?

Have any correspondents any 'feel' for the type of GP% that a small operator should be looking for in respect delivering heating oil to domestic customers within a 20 mile radius of base?

2 pence per litre
Work on the margin of 2 pence per litre and you won't be far out.

More than that will usually give a net profit for the firm.

Look out for settlement discounts at 0%, and also for domestic sales of less than 500 gallons being at 5% VAT.

The 2 pence per litre is the difference between buying and selling prices, you will also have delivery costs.

This industry is cut throat!
