Double Mileage Allowance?

Double Mileage Allowance?

Didn't find your answer?

The single vehicle is used by client for his part-time business run through his limited company. He would do more than 5,000, but less than 10,000 business miles per annum for this source.

Additionally, client is in employment and would undertake around 10,000 business miles per annum.

The employer will pay him business mileage based upon the mileage in employment, as he does not have any knowledge of the employees other business activties.

Does the taxpapyer have to deivulge on an SA Return the full mileage and make restitution if he has received 40p per mile on up to 20,000 miles per annum over all, or is the banding per source?

On a similar theme..
...is it possible to have 2 jobs (non-associated companies) and use the £8500 limit (can't remember the proper name for it) for 'non-notifiable' BIK etc for each company??

Don't have to aggregate unless same (or associated) employer
The Inland Revenue booklet on travel states that if you have two or more employments that are associated then your business travel for both is added together to work out when you have travelled 10,000 business miles. Employments are associated if the are with employers under the same control. If the employments are not associated a separate 10,000 mile limit is applied to each.
