Employee working full time overseas

Employee working full time overseas

Didn't find your answer?

Can you have an employee working fulltime in France, but paid as a UK employee, so that it's only UK tax that is paid and not French tax ?

Would appreciated ANY comments/advice.

Thanks

Don't forget social security
You also need to consider the social security position; French social security costs are much greater than the UK

French tax resident?
You will need to check if he is or becomes French tax resident, particulary under the UK-France DTA. If his tax residence is France AND the source of income is work performed in France then I would think the income should be taxed by France, even if paid by a foreign employer.

The various local French taxes can be a Kafka-esque (Balzac-esque?) nightmare I understand so you may find that a local payroll bureaux could handle it for you (what's French for bureaux...?).
