Employment lawyer needed - any recommendations?

My client's employee has been ill for two months.  He has been paid ssp, but on top of that, to help him out, my client paid 6 months holiday in the first month (which was owed) and then paid another 6 months hols in advance in the second month.  Employee is now threatening some sort of action against him and he has been told by one emplyment lawyer that he should not have paid holiday pay up front. This lawyer has offered to sort everything out for him, update employment contracts for all employees (there are only 3), all for a monthly fee of £65 per month plus vat for a five year period.  Nearly £4k seems an awful lot to me to sort out the employment contracts (and I am not happy about the 5 year agreement).  Can anyone recommend a good employment lawyer in the surrey/hampshire area who will charge a reasonable fee?

If the £65 per month includes unlimited access for all employment issues over 5 years including sorting out the employment contracts and the recalcitrant employee it is DIRT CHEAP but you get what you pay for.

The man I have used for clients for many years will sort out the immediate problems on a one off basis and I can recommend him.

Try Barry Hubert of Brand & Co tel 0208 641 2771 or e-mail barryh@brandandco.com and mention my name

Good luck

Just a one off

Hi - there are lots of "employment regs maintenance" companies out there who are good but if you want a one off piece of advice I've always used the best lawyers I can find:

Highly recommend Melanie Smith & her colleagues @ http://www.morganrussell.co.uk/ in Esher

and for "the Big Guns" http://www.mundays.co.uk/ in Cobham.

Good Luck (6 month's holiday in advance?  yes please boss!)
