A client runs a hotel through a ltd co but owns the property personally. A rent has been paid for around 5 years now although nothing like a MV rent. If the hotel is sold, followed by dissolution under s652a, will the disposal qualify for ER, albeit reduced to take account of the rent paid? If not, would they be better off reverting back to a partnership? Will the property then qualify for full ER after one year or do they look back at the whole period of ownership? All comments are appreciated.
