Ever thought of giving a bit back (but for cash)

Didn't find your answer?

As part of my role in work I look after all graduates on the finance scheme as a point of contact for any issues in work a bit like a mentor.

Through our discussions I found out that unlike our luckily lot who we pay for the whole shooting match over the life of their studies, many of their peers on their courses (FTC and BPP) have to fund themselves. Which as we all know is highly expensive over the 3-4 years and comes in at about £8-10k.

I am thinking of providing home tuition not as a substitute to BPP or FTC but for those increasing number of students who:

1)Take on distance learning
2) Who cannot afford to go on revision courses
3) Or those who need a bit of extra help before exams.

But I wondered how much would I charge for this? and would there be much call for such a service?

Like a top-up or revision class at home then?
I went on a revision course for one of my CTA exams which I'd referred on to Reed Business School. I think I learnt more in a couple of days there than I did on the whole year's course from my local major provider (the only one in the region where I was based at the time). I wasn't at all surprised after the first hour why I hadn't passed first time. It wasn't cheap but was worth every penny.

This is a great idea I think - I would suggest you look at providers of revision courses for costs charged and adjust for what you think is reasonable. Of course you'll have advertising costs to consider as well.

pod casts?
I could see a market for pod-cast type courses. Might provide BPP et al a good shove too.
