EXCEL FIND LINK ERROR MESSAGE

EXCEL FIND LINK ERROR MESSAGE

Didn't find your answer?

When using the excellent Find Link Excel Add-in (from http://www.bmsltd.co.uk/MVP/Default.htm
) I have the following error messages ."Link Finder-unexpected error in Chart No.XX-Error 1004;unable to get the HasData label of the point class" and "Error 13;type mismatch".
These appear 18 times for each chart and there are numerous charts so I would like to eliminate the messages.
Also is there any way to identify each chart from its No?

Eeeh
Since the author has presumably protected his add-in then apart from contacting him for a fix about all you can do is see if there is anything odd about the datalabels on your charts. Datalabels can use either text or a link to a cell and will therefore be checked by the add in. For example, are the linked cells valid references?

I take it you do have the latest copy as it seems he has fixed similar problems before.

Try a different utility?
I use dellinks which I believe is from Microsoft. I've not experienced any problems like you describe.
