Help! A colleague has somehow manage to invert the screen while working in Excel or Access and we cannot correct it. He was using thekeyboard in the region of the control and alt keys at the time. Switching the machine off and on doesn't work.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

how and why
The Ctrl Alt and arrow keys change the screen orientation and its a hoot to do in the office of course. I think the reason this feature is included in Windows is so that people who have a tablet PCs can change the screen to be either portrait or landscape can have the display the right way around

Upside-down?
Do you mean the screen is now upside down? If so, this can be corrected by using ctrl-alt-up cursor all at once.
If that's not the problem, then sorry, can't help.
google the problem
My panacea for all ills is to type the problem into google.
For an upside down screen i was led to http://www.webuser.co.uk/forums/showflat.php?Number=179553
If the answer's not there you could post it as a query and are bound to get a techie respond.

Do this
Right-click on Desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> then choose the tab for your video adapter if there is one.
You should then be able to find out the key combination to rotate the screen.
I recommend either standing on your head to do this or turning the screen upside down unless your mousing spatial skils are VERY advanced!

Wow amazing
So how many other people knew (or as in my case didn't know) that control alt & cursor key changes the excel screen though 180 degrees? Why is this function there? I find it all a bit confusing. Are there other inadvertent key strokes we should know about?
If all else fails....
Simply lift your monitor, rotate by 180 degrees and replace on the desk!!
Works every time!!
