Excel to PDF

Excel to PDF

Didn't find your answer?

I prepare accounts in excel and in order to attach to CT600 on line I need them to be in PDF format.

Can I do this without buying acrobat pro?

Many thanks

Cute PDF
Have just downloaded and successfully used Cutepdf to convert a VT Accounts file - no problem , all now submitted to our friends at revenue and Customs.
I will continue to use thisprogramme.

Only slight trap to watch for is to make Cute pdf your default printer before you press the print button from VT Accounts.

Try openoffice
I think that the openoffice spreadsheet does this and has all the functionality of excel AND is free!!!!

Open the excel spreadsheet in openoffice and export to pdf.

If you search openoffice on google you will find their site but I think it is openoffice.org

Open Office is great but if Denise is using VT Accounts the software will not be compatible.

Its easy to use and FREE!!

Try PDF995
There are lots of free and cheap converters to do this very easily. You install them and they appear in the list of printers on your pc. One simple one is PDF995 from www.pdf995.com. When you want to create a pdf file, just select the "printer" named PDF995 and, instead of printing to paper, it will generate a pdf file for you to save - in exactly the same page format as would have appeared on paper.

The program is free if you are prepared to put up with a screen with an advert for the product each time it is opened - not much of an imposition really and better than a printed line at the bottom of each pdf page that you get with some such products. PDF995 costs, apparently, $9.95. My employer paid for a multiple licence but I happily live with the free version at home.

Obviously you were not aware of these products before now but you will think of lots of uses now that will enable you to save paper and, for example, send documents by email for signing that cannot easily be edited in the same way as a Word doc can be.

Use Excel 2007

An alternative is to use Excel 2007. It is possible to save straight to a pdf file.

I use both XL 2007 and pdf995 when using earlier XL versions. For a straight save, XL2007 is easier and quicker. pdf995 gives more options and abilities to split and/or manipulate multiple files
