Excel to Sage Line 50

Excel to Sage Line 50

Didn't find your answer?

I am trying to import Client and Invoice records from Excel into Sage Line 50. I have created .csv files (text), but Line 50 freezes whenever I try to import them. It did try once but told me that one of the lines was incorrectly formatted. Since then it only freezes. Any clues, please?

Had this problem!
I've seen this one before - the only thing I can suggest is to open your file in a spreadsheet and check that it still looks OK.

Then leave the spreadsheet open when Sage starts the import process.

You should see Sage make a second pass at the import and when this starts, close the spreadsheet and this seems to push it through.

Sorry I can't be any more help

Elimination by binary division
If you can't see anything obviously wrong with the input data, you can identify the problem record by a process of elimination. Divide the input file into 2 equal parts and try importing them separately. If one half fails, that's where the error is. Divide this one into two and import both halves and repeat until only one line remains and that is the one.

If neither of the files from the 1st division will import successfully then you have a file format problem.
