Excel slows in a Table

Excel slows in a Table

Didn't find your answer?

I like working in Excel Table 2007. It saves me lots of work, notably to create a pivot table by just simple one click. However, when I copy a raw, or enter a new row within a able, it seems to take ages to action it. This problem is compounded by the fact the file is shared across the company net work.

Could anyone suggest any solution on how to overcome this slowness please? Or do I have to accept this is how data are organised on excel table?

Not something I've experienced

but worth trying it with calculation set to Manual.

conditional formatting

Check for any conditional formatting in the worksheet :

Home ribbon>Styles>Conditional formatting>Manage rules

Sometimes if there are an excessive amount of rules then the formatting takes quite a while to complete the simplest of tasks such as insert/copy+paste et cetera

Also, you say you have shared the workbook across the network - have you disabled tracking (unless you really really want it).:

Review Ribbon>Changes>Share workbook

On the advanced tab make sure your track changes are off.
