Exfiles Datalink - CSV export not working

Exfiles Datalink - CSV export not working

Didn't find your answer?

I have set it up and everything appears to work, however the export Data to CSV file is generating a file of 0K in size ie. no data! Selecting the report option gives the required figures. AWhy is the CSV option not working? Am i doing something wrong?

Possible cause
James,

The csv export option looks at the output map you have selected and creates a file in the pre-stored format required for that system.

Currently we have pre-stored csv formats for Iris, Solution 6 and Sage Line 50.

A csv file for one of the above outputs will offer you an editable file name that for example looks like ClientName - IRIS.csv .

If you have created a Master Map Template that uses a different set of Output codes to those listed above then the Export routine will create a filename in the form ClientName - .csv and in explorer it will be listed with 0KB. (zero kilobytes).

We can easily add any other csv formats on demand, just email me [email protected] with the format required ie normally code, value, detail, and sometimes a few other fields.

If I have not accurately described the solution to the problem you have explained then please telephone me on 01403 266541 so that I can find out more information.

The only other issue reported regarding export files resulted from using invalid characters in the client name ie Client Co 1999/2000 where the / is an invalid character as Microsoft uses the / as a folder name seperator. In this instance no file will be created and an error message will be displayed.
