Extel Share services - any good websites?

Didn't find your answer?

Prior to a Career Break, I worked in an office where we used the Extel share history books (affectionately called the Black Books) for finding scrip/bonus issues etc. For year end CGT planning, does anyone know of a website which can reproduce the data for one-off enquiries rather than having to buy the whole book. I would probably need to have access about 4-5 times per year.

Substantial shareholdings
Can anyone advise me how the new substantial shareholdings exemption for companies for capital gains tax impacts on reconstruction issues? Is it now better to always sell shares than transfer trade for the selling company?

Also can anyone provide me with a quick summary of the advantages/disadvantages and consequences of the different options for reconstructions (or suggest a useful web-site)

Extel share information
Phone the Institute library. They will provide a copy of the relevant pages either by fax or post (minimum charge £5.00 and £3.50 respectively).

Extel is expensive
We(a firm of GP FCAs) have the same problem. All I can think of is a central library but I'd be worried about breaching copyright. Its not only CGT info. but dividends too. Possibly Extel could offer a web service on a pay per view basis? The annuals are very expensive.
