FBI of P35 and CIS36

FBI of P35 and CIS36

Didn't find your answer?

Some practioners maybe under pressure from clients to chase after the £825 carrot being dangled by the Revenue for filing year end payroll information on line.
However for those with clients in the construction industry know, the P35 uses information collected on the CIS36 form, those organisations that have both employees and CIS subcontractors need to have a FBI system capable of dealing with both. It doesn't look as if Quickbooks can deal with it (I would like to be corrected), and I'm not sure if the Inland Revenue offer an on-line solution either. Has anyone out there got the same problem and better still a solution. Many thanks in advance for advice comments etc.
Jim

No longer any CIS36 form (2007/08)
As the single CIS36 form has been replaced by 12 CIS300 forms (one per month) there is no CIS36 form to be filed 2007/08.

However, the tax deduction figures from those 12 CIS300 forms for the tax year do need to be totalled up and stated on the P35 form.

Filing online - £825 incentive - CIS36
The CIS36 form can NOT be filed on line according to a course held by IR that I attended last year.

However I was told that provided the P14/P35/etc. are filed online (and the CIS36 by post) then the incentive payment WILL be earned.

The reason for IR's inability to accept CIS36 online ? I was told this is because the CIS scheme is being overhauled (from April 2006 I think) and IR did not want to incur the cost of developing a short-lived on line filing facility for CIS36.

By the way, you don't need proprietary software to file PAYE returns online, although I am told proprietary software might make the job easier, particularly when you have a large number of returns to file.

My understanding is that the way of filing on line NOT using prprietory software is to fill forms in manually on screen individually.

P35 2006 will not have the box
With the introduction of the new CIS system from April 2006, the Revenue are saying that boxes 8 and 31 on the P35, which relate to CIS, will probably be removed.

They are in the process of making a final decision on this.

Thanks John, Mark
The issue I have is that the P35 should include the 18% tax deducted from the subcontractors (box 8). As I see it the only way to get the incentive payment is to file an employee only P35 by FBI and then send in a correction. Not very efficient for either me or the revenue.
