Can someone recommend a low cost, easy to use fixed asset register.
I need a stand program that either my clients can use or where I do it for them - maintaining mutliple client on the one application. Any ideas?
Thanks. Peter

How many assets?
Hi Peter
It depends how many assets are likely to be required, but we have successfully been running our FA register in Excel for years. It all but runs itself; new assets are inserted by copy/insert the last one and then editing it appropriately. It picks up additions and disposals, Dprn. month and YTD, and has a column for leased assets. Sub. divisions of assets by type are simply done by sub-totals. It even generates the lead schedule for the stat. accounts. At year end you just need to copy certain columns as values back to the beginning (having first saved as the next year's file), and strip out any disposed assets from the previous year, or the figures for them if you want to keep a record of their existance.
Unless the clients are huge, I have never been able to see much merit in paying out for a specialised program to do this.
