Foreign dividends received by a small company
Dividends received by a small company in respect of <10% shareholdings would appear not to be exempt if the payer is resident in say Jersey (being a non-qualifying territory). But if the reciepient had been large, dividends would have been exempt under the portfolio exemption. Is this correct, and if so can anyone explain why a small company should be disadvantaged compared to a large one?
