FRSSE Comparators

FRSSE Comparators

Didn't find your answer?

I am currently preparing the accounts for a small consultancy company that I work for. The company qualifies to prepare accounts under FRSSE. The last accounting were prepared for an 18 month period. Do I use these as the comparators for current year numbers.

Also looking for an accountant to review stat accounts I have prepared. Any suggestions ? I am a qualified accountant, but admit my knowledge of current disclosure requirements is rusty.

FRSSE
Hi Alistair,

Your last accounting period will be used as the comparative period. Normally, it is assumed that this is a complete year, and so the headings for each column are simply the year.

However, as you have an 18 month period as the comparative, the column headings should state this fact. This means that the Profit and Loss Account and any relevant notes should be headed up from your start date to your end date e.g. current: 01/07/05 to 30/06/06 and comparative: 01/01/04 to 30/06/05. The Balance Sheet and any relevant notes can be simply be headed up with the date of the period end.

I would be happy to review the accounts that you have prepared. I should say that I am the MD of a company that develops accounts prep software, but I promise not to try to sell you anything unless you ask otherwise! Please e-mail me [email protected] .

Are you also preparing abbreviated accounts?

Regards,

Steve
