Can somebody please explain what the difference is between conventional gilts and index-linked gilts upon redemption?
Would the amount of money repaid to the individual upon end of gilts life be more than the amount actually invested originally? I only ask as I have seen valuations of gilts online valuing them at sometimes twice the actual value?
