hand held virus

hand held virus

Didn't find your answer?

I have upto date norton on my desktop and i also have norton hand held anti virus up to date on my xda II.

When the XDA is in constant synchronisation mode ( in its cradle) and the desktop is hit by a virus that affects desktops Norton kicks in and gets it.

When a virus aimed at handhelds hits my hand held via emails norton gets it again.

Unfortunately when the desktop virus is caught it doesn't stop the virus going across to the hand held and living there.

This means that everytime i put the XDA into the cradle Netkys comes back into the desktop, and gets caught again.

Norton say that each virus protection is specific and wont catch virus' that do not affect the computer in question.

I can't scan the XDA from the computer and vice versa.

Any techies got a solution?

So far today my handheld sends out about 900 emails per day when ever i up date!

Norton? Never
I've said this so many times: you will regret the day you ever signed up for Norton anti virus software.

I suffered a few years ago when my then employer gave us all Norton. I thought it was me then I suffered again.

Since then I have used AVG at www.grisoft.com and have been more or less problem free. Their backup service is good and I am updated just about daily: I use AVG 7.0 which I pay for.

I have, however, been suffering over the weekend as I have hit two web sites by coincidence that have both dumped a Trojan on me. I then found CW Shredder to be brilliant at sorting them out and that is free.

Ditch Norton ASAP.
