Have your electronic P35's been received with client names?

Have your electronic P35's been received with...

Didn't find your answer?

I was wondering if any of you have issues with electronic P35's?

The notices that we have received into your secure mailbox rarely reflect the client name.

Typically they carry our practice name and the PAYE reference.

It is not going to be much fun to match these to our 100+ payroll clients.

Not just the Revenue
We have also found this problem but as we only(!) have 40 payrolls we are managing to cope.

The bigger problem which I beleive is one which has been passed onto the Revenue is that there are no names on the government portal. When I wish to authorise someone to use a client registered to me it can take ages what with the self assessment clients, corporate and PAYE. You cannot even get the site to sort them for you.

When will this government realise that they are dealing with people who are individuals not numbers (or customers).

Yes
although it's not too bad - out of 16 received so far, only 2 like that (but why? We are not the employer!).

Agree with Mark, we track ours with a spreadsheet so come May 19th (or perhaps a week or so before then), we can quickly see who still needs to be done.

Also received P35 notices for clients dumped during the year, which had been relayed to HMRC.

The annoying thing is that there are parallel systems that could be streamlined - 64-8's for tax, FBI2 for payroll, and now VAT on line (although we can't use this yet as we are not VAT registered!!!). However, we have a client which we only do payroll for (at the moment, hoping to pick up the accounts for 2006), so I suppose (grudgingly) there is some logic to it.

Maintain a list of names + reference numbers
Because of this problem I think it is necessary to maintain a spreadsheet of clients registered for FBI, having (say) 4 columns :-
1) PAYE scheme employer district reference
1) PAYE scheme employer collectors reference
3) Employer's name
4) Date FBI2 sent to IR

Then sort by district reference when a no-name notice is received.

No names! how useful
I also noticed that the electronic p35 notifications do not contain a client name - yet another example of inefficient Revenue online services.
