HMRC "postal" delays

HMRC "postal" delays

Didn't find your answer?

Yesterday, 19th April, we received Reminders (AR1N) to file PAYE & CIS Annual Returns for a number of clients. They were all issued on 30 March so have been "in the post" for 20 days. I thought this was a record for routine HMRC mail.

Until today, 20th April, when we received a couple of P30B letters about paying PAYE & CIS electronically. These were dated 11 February and so have taken 69 days to reach us. That must be a record !

Incidentally, why is the Revenue applying itself to issuing reminders when it has still not issued 2007/08 PAYE payslip booklets for about half of our clients ?

me too!
I got a surcharge notice dated 27 March, about 35 P35 reminders dated 31 March and 3 "paying electronically" letters dated 11 Feb. All received this morning. Presumably the other 65 odd paying electronically letters for my other clients will turn up next week with the same date on them...
Maybe we should complain to the post office. or maybe we could send in our client's late 2006 tax now with an 11 Feb date, in which case the late payment surcharge wouldn't be due?
