HMRC stoop to new lows ?

HMRC stoop to new lows ?

Didn't find your answer?

Could HMRC be utilising their efforts in other areas ?

Take a look at Holland V HMRC 2010 SC which seems to attack the veil of incorporation.

I bet Mr and Mrs Holland had a few sleepless nights.

How low can HMRC stoop  ?

Eh?

Poor old Mr and Mrs Holland?  Mr Holland at least seems to me to have been pretty culpable, and a 3:2 majority in the Supreme Court is a narrow victory.

Well it hardly merits your billing

Complex structures aimed at tax avoidance (not to mention sham meeting minutes) are hardly likely not to attract HMRC's attention. As a tax payer I would be agrieved if they did not scrutinise people like the Hollands. Personally I would have lost no sleep had it gone 3-2 in the other direction.

ir35

It seems IR35 was not used by HMRC which may have proved to be more successful !
