How can my client find out his UTR

Didn't find your answer?

Is there any way my client can find out his UTR? I have a 64-8 form to be posted to longbenton but I only have his NI Number and no UTR. He only became self employed in December and has not received a tax return in the past, so we don't even no where his tax office is.

Send the form together with the 64-8 to Longbenton. Ensure that his NINo is quoted on both forms.

Better hurry. Not having a tax reference is not a reasonable excuse for not registering to get a tax reference!

Presumably the rush
is the 3 month deadline to notify commencement of self employment (£100 penalty otherwise)

Send the 64-8 & CWF1 with the box ticked to say "No UTR held"

UTR
You can either wait for a correspondence from the Revenue or send the form off as it is and tick the relevant box where it says UTR not yet issued. But why the rush anyway!

Cant he just wait for some correspondence to come through?
