How to expedite a repayment from the Repayment Security Team
As many others have already experienced (having read the back history on the board), we've got a repayment of £9,575 stuck with the Repayment Security Team. We've already waited the standard 10-days for it to be cleared and no sign. Complaints to the contact centre are recieved with a sympathy but impotence.
I've attempted to get in contact with the team in Bristol (AA SNIU, HMRC, 101 Victoria Street, Bristol BS1 6BG), but there seems to be no way of getting hold of them other than sending a letter and we've all seen how spectacularly badly HMRC are at dealing with letters - that is a joke in itself and a very unfunny one.
So my question is, has anyone managed to do anything to ACTUALLY speed this process up so that we get paid in a few days rather than a few months. I'm open to literally ANY suggestions.
