How to fix an error in CT600 submission

How to fix an error in CT600 submission

Didn't find your answer?

Hi All,

Embarassingly, I have submitted accounts having done the tax calc to companies house. I have then realised there is a small error in the tax return (under £10) so have amended it but now the tax return and accounts no longer reconcile.

I am using the HMRC tax software and have the accounts in iXBRL so have attached them. As the tax charge per HMRC software says one number, and the iXBRL accounts say something different, I cannot now submit the return.

Any suggestions of how I go about submitting? Do I need to contact HMRC, and if so, which department??

Not a problem

If the only "error" in the accounts is the amount of the tax charge and hence, the profit after tax and retained earnings, there is no problem.  The only figure that does have to agree is the profit before tax and perhaps, some figures in the detailed P&L for tax disallowed expenses, such as entertainment.  The corporation tax charge in the accounts is just an estimate (as may be the accountancy fees) which can be adjusted to actual in the following year's accounts.

Hi,
I have the same problem, I have tried to submit the corporation tax return, but it keeps coming up with this message......

The submission of this document has failed due to departmental specific business logic in the Body tag.
Embedded script or executable code is not permitted in Inline XBRL documents submitted to HMRC. Please remove and re-submit

I would be very grateful if anyone could please help me with this, as we all know, this time of year is not the time to keep wasting time trying to submit returns to HMRC
Many thanks
Olivia

I thought Euan had resurfaced until I realised the date. An excellent contributor over many years.
