How to show a trust as a shareholder

Didn't find your answer?

A private company is about to transfer shares to a family trust. How is the name shown on the share cert, stock transfer form, reg of members & Annual Return, ie is it purely the name of the trust or should each individual trustee appear?

Many thanks
Paul

Recording shares held in trust
It is the names of the trustees that should appear in all statutory records. The fact that they are holding them on trust is strictly a private matter between the trustees and the beneficiary. There is no requirement for the Company to show that the shareholding relates to a trust. Also the address used on all statutory documents should be the address of the first named trustee. hope this helps.
