Basically a fudge ...
Because of the outcry when the new site was released and everyone's historic anonymous postings were revealed Aweb needed to come up with a quick solution.
They solved the issue with 'anonymous', however, because of the way in which the site is constructed it doesn't really operate correctly.
It should allow 'anonymous' posting to be edited in the normal way and at the same time 'hide' them if you look at all the contributions by a particular user.
On balance this issue was probably never even addressed when spec'ing or acceptance testing the system and only came back to bite Aweb when it went live - a classic example of getting it very wrong
Well, don't post anonymously, then
I accept it as a condition of being allowed to stay anonymous

I agree
It's not difficult
As both Welsh and "carnmores" have shown, it is possible to be anonymous by choosing an identity which does not reveal who you are but gives a unique identifier to your posts - personally I love the graphics and personal identities that members have built since the new site went live. I do miss one or two of our old favourites - Penny hasn't been seen around much and always had something useful to say, but Euan and Clint are still here. And of course online you can be anyone you like - so maybe I'll have another identity as....well who would you choose? I think I would like to be Dusty Springfield - wonderful evocative voice.
