IHT computer programs

IHT computer programs

Didn't find your answer?

My firm uses Sage Forms for IHT returns. I have just filled in my first one and found it incredibly frustrating to use. None of the supplementary forms flowed through to the main form and you could only have one supplementary form open at a time which lead to continual opening and shutting of pages along with manual updates on several pages if there were any amendments.

My firm are open to suggestions of changing the program we use and I wondered if anyone could suggest any better packages which we could look into?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Why not use Acrobat
I process quite a few IHT forms and have used the IHT forms from the Revenue website. You really need an full version of Acrobat to save and revise etc( I use version 6 which I got cheap) and it will allow full calculations etc within the form. It will not force data other than name and date of death into the schedules but the calculation process is excellent and as the pdf forms are free its not bad.

If you want a more functional system and are not concerned about cost then Isokon provide an estate accounts system with integrated accounts and IHT forms. It completes about 80 % of the schedules and leaves the usual ag relief and business relief forms to complete. Isokon also provides a good stab at estate accounts and a workflow for probate and estate matters. It is really designed for solicitors.

Finally have you looked at PTP who have an IHT planner which can roll over into the forms.
