Importing product list into Sage Line 50

Importing product list into Sage Line 50

Didn't find your answer?

I have a product list which I need to import into Sage Line 50 for a client of mine.

I thought there would be a product table which I could download into excel to ensure that I am populating the columns correctly but, I can't seem to find one.

Does anybody have any ideas please?

Product Details Reports
Hi Lisa,

If you look in the Product Details Reports folder (assuming you're using a fairly recent version of Line 50), you'll find two reports that will produce CSV exports of your stock records ("Product Record CSV" and "Product Record CSV (Extended)").

These should help you to see how the import file needs to be laid out.

Hope that helps.

Import
In L50, click on 'file', then 'import'. You are then given a choice of static data to import, including stock records. Click on 'import file details', then choose 'stock records'. You then have the CSV structure - for instance, the top line, 'product code', equals column A in a spreadsheet (although it should be saved as a CSV file). And so on.

Your best bet would be to export a selection of product data from the demo company, then play around with it, make some fields memorable, and try importing it back in. You only have to choose a couple of codes, but you can then establish which columns feed which fields.

Hope that helps.
