We are a small conservation company, 20 employees / about 25 subcontractors.
Currently use Sage L50 and Sage Job Costing and input a lot of data that is not getting used effectively.
Most projects – artistic/decorative.
Some projects – construction so CIS tax to deduct.
Need to be able to identify the JOB as CIS rather than the subcontractor. Most systems (including Sage Construct) identify the SUBCONTRACTOR as CIS and hence tax would be deducted from ALL payments to a subcontractor instead of just CIS work.
In an ideal world the system would also have a simple interface for project managers to:
Set jobs up quickly – all one one page
Enter estimates / tenders / budgets – at different levels of detail
Enter PO’s without too much specific detail
Look up top level project summaries and drill down
Track WIP/billing/costs (incl outstanding PO’s) vs budget -YTD and month
Write simple, adaptable reports
Input draft invoices for final editing by accounts dept.
Export data to Excel/Outlook
Does such a system exist???

Sage 50 Construction?
Sage Construction uses a code to identify what item of work is CIS tax deductable so if these codes are used on the contract then tax will be deducted - and vice-versa. And the rest of your needs are standard.
